Leticia Haute Coiffure at the Regional Finale of the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Awards

Candace Sophia set out on another mission to serve the public with her services of excellent manicure skills and to her delight it was only the L’Oreal colour trophy awards 2014 !!!

Being sent the brief of the nail design and meticulously practicing even to that very morning Candace was ready to go. Two days working behind the scenes of The L’Oreal colour trophy awards 2014 at the lush venue of Westminster Bridge Park Plaza hotel – how could you not love your job.
In the heart of London , Big Ben chiming , tourists and families licking whippy ice cream cones and taking snaps and Candace Sophia taking selfies with the sun shining off the water – just taking a minute to appreciate London and what a lovely city we are living in.
Greeted by the warm smile of Sophie as Candace entered the grand entrance of the hotel – Sophie the PR consultant of Essie led Candace down the stairs into the plaza suite and was introduced to her working area the models , hair stylist , make up artist and all the other people involved in the event.

The models were all so chilled out half hair done, some with make up on some not. The smell of the amazing L’Oreal products, Stuarts uber cool sound selection , Candace got straight to work going around touching up nails, doing full sets and painting toes. The blanc as a base and using lacquered up or liquorice to do the side chevrons such a cool look for the models.

With filming going on and photos being taken the whole experience was something a bit a different for Candace but all the same a totally enthralling experience. Then on the second day of her two Candace had the pleasure to meet Emma the educator for Essie working alongside her assisting her as when she needed.

Candace’s experience didn’t stop there oh no after meeting with Alex from Essie Candace got involved with the Essie pop up mani stands downstairs where all the competitors where downstairs with there models people streaming in for their manicures bright lights, music going and drinks flowing announcements and it was competition time!!!

What a show it was from the competing models and the L’Oreal ID artist models – to appreciate the time and meticulous details from hair make-up, nails and wardrobe to the choreography from being behind the scenes to being in the crowd – breathe taking, spectacular amazing and so worth it

Pierre Doumit, international celebrity and session stylist and the creative director of Leticia Haute Coiffure analyses his favourite hair trends for Spring Summer 14 and give a sneak peek of his hair master class with a step by step guide on how to recreate the looks at home.
The new braid
After the side and the fishtail braid this Season it is all about the new braid: a romantic version of the traditional braid pinned up for a laid back yet sophisticated look. Ideal for a weekend in the city or a romantic wedding in the country.
To get this look at home, first wash your hair with the Volupt range from Sebastian. This will give the maximum body to your hair. Always start with a shampoo then apply a conditioner or a mask every other week to get healthy looking hair.
Next, spray your hair at the roots with Volupt Spray from Sebastian and then dry your hair before backcombing the roots to add volume around the face and brushing the hair for a soft finish.
Divide your hair into four strands before braiding each strand starting 2 cm from the roots. Pin your braids on your hair creating a romantic halo. Spray your hair with Zero Gravity spray from Sebastian for a strong hold with an invisible finish.

Laid back wavy hair vs poker straight hair
Whichever style you go for natural, healthy looking hair is the key trend this Season.
Waves
Perfect summer look ideal for everywhere from Marylebone Village to the beaches of the South of France, the wavy look is easy to achieve and simple to maintain.
Start by shampooing your hair with Kerastase shampoo Bain Age Recharge before applying the Age Recharge mask to moisturise and add body to the hair without losing volume. If your hair is damaged swap the shampoo and mask for the Bain de Force range to repair your hair and give it a silky smooth finish.
Spray your hair at the roots with Volupt spray from Sebastian and dry your hair upside down to create some soft waves. Brush the hair if you desire a very natural look. Now to define the wave in each strand twist your hair with your finger placed at the end of your hair.
For a more polished finish, or if you have very fine hair, use a curling iron to set the curls. After designing each curl, spray the hair strand with Shaper Zero from Sebastian to hold the curl with a natural finish and soft touch

Poker straight hair
This look is the most versatile trend of the season: easy to wear all day long from office to cocktail and during week ends. To be spot on trend accessorise your straight hair either with a long clip to hold back the hair from your face or add some hair jewellery on your parting for a sophisticated evening look.

To get the look start by washing your hair with Hydre Moisturizing shampoo from Sebastian before applying the conditioner from the same range, This will give the hair all the nutrients that it needs to be fully rehydrated and will give your hair a soft and silky finish. The next step is to prepare your hair for the styling: apply a small amount of Potion 9 from Sebastian mixed with a couple of drops of Cristalliste hair serum from Kerastase on the length of your hair avoiding the roots. Blow dry your hair straight. Spray your hair with Heat Protect Spray from GHD and straighten your hair with a GHD straighten for a smooth and super straight finish. Apply some Zero Gravity Spray from Sebastian to hold the hair with an invisible and smooth finish. Add a spray Shine Define from Sebastian for a glossy finish.
